Learn about silica sol precision casting

2021-04-08

As a silica sol precision casting manufacturer, let's take a look at the material of silica sol (also known as silica gel).

According to different needs, the following adhesives can be selected:

1. KD-866: fast bonding silicone material, no surface treatment, one-component, easy to operate;

2. KD-855: Suitable for bonding small area silica gel to metal planes, facades, sleeves, etc. The surface of silica gel needs to be treated with KD-770;

3. KD-833: suitable for silicone to stick PP, PE and other difficult-to-stick plastics, fast bonding; silicone surface needs to be treated with KD-770;

4. G-988A: Suitable for silicone glue, silicone glue glass, silicone cloth, etc., one-component room temperature vulcanizate, after curing, it is an elastomer with excellent waterproof, shockproof adhesive, high and low temperature resistance, 1-2mm For the thickness, it will be cured in about 10 minutes, and basically cured in 5-6 hours, with a certain degree of strength. It takes at least 24 hours to fully cure. Single-component, no need to mix, just apply after extruding and let it stand without heating;

5. G-988: Suitable for silicone adhesive plastic (PC, PS, ABS, etc.), silicone adhesive metal (iron, aluminum, stainless steel, zinc alloy, etc.), silicone adhesive bamboo wood, silicone adhesive stone, etc. One-component room temperature vulcanizate. After curing, it is an elastomer with excellent waterproof, shockproof adhesive, high and low temperature resistance. If the thickness is 1-2mm, it will be cured in about 10 minutes, and basically cured in 5-6 hours, with a certain strength. It takes at least 24 hours to fully cure. Single-component, no need to mix, just apply after extruding and let it stand without heating.

After silica gel absorbs moisture, it can be removed by thermal desorption. There are many heating methods, such as electric furnace, flue waste heat heating and hot air drying. The temperature for removing the added heat should be controlled at 120-180℃, and for blue gel indicator, color-changing silica gel, and blue silica gel, it should be controlled at 100-120℃. The maximum temperature during regeneration of various industrial silica gels should not exceed the following limits:

Coarse-pored silica gel should not be higher than 600°C; fine-pored silica gel should not be higher than 200°C; blue glue indicator (or color-changing silica gel) should not be higher than 120°C; silica-alumina glue should not be higher than 350°C. After the regenerated silica gel, its moisture is generally controlled below 2% before being put into use again.
